About
Reveal the colors that make you glow.
PaletteReveal is a free, browser-based personal color analysis tool. You upload a photo, click a few skin points, and the engine returns the seasonal palette and color recommendations that suit your individual coloring.
What we do
Personal color analysis is a system that classifies an individual's natural coloring into one of twelve "seasons" — Light Spring, True Spring, Bright Spring, Light Summer, True Summer, Soft Summer, Soft Autumn, True Autumn, Dark Autumn, Dark Winter, True Winter, and Bright Winter. Each season has a curated palette of clothing, makeup, and accessory colors that complement that coloring family.
Most professional analyses are done in person and cost €100–€400. PaletteReveal makes the same conceptual approach available online for free. We sample your skin from a portrait, convert the colors to CIE Lab, and rank the twelve seasons by how well their reference values fit your individual signature.
What we are not
- Not a medical or dermatological tool. Nothing here is medical advice. We do not diagnose skin conditions or assess health.
- Not a biometric identification system. We do not store, recognize, or match faces. We sample color values only.
- Not a replacement for an in-person analysis with a trained color consultant. Lighting, camera quality, filters, and makeup all affect the result. Treat our output as a thoughtful starting point.
How the engine works
- You click 3–9 points on a portrait. We sample real-photo pixels at native resolution.
- The samples are filtered to remove non-skin colors (lips, hair, deep shadows, blown highlights).
- The robust average is converted to Lab; the b-axis (yellow ↔ blue) drives undertone, the L-axis (lightness) drives contrast.
- Each of the twelve seasons has a target Lab signature. We rank them by perceptual distance, with penalties for warm/cool family mismatch and contrast/clarity mismatch.
- The winning season's palette — twelve glow colors, six avoid colors, family-matched lipstick / blush / eyeshadow — is returned as your result. You can also pick any season manually from the dropdown to compare.
Privacy first
The image stays in your browser. The backend API only receives sampled RGB values — never your photo. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
