TL;DR

Your uploaded photos are processed entirely in your browser and never reach our servers. We store the email and palettes you explicitly save. We use privacy-conscious analytics and Google AdSense to keep the tool free — both honour the choice you make in our cookie banner.

1. Who we are

Palette Reveal is a free personal color analysis tool. The data controller for the purposes of GDPR is the Palette Reveal team. Contact: info@palettereveal.com.

2. What we collect and why

• Account data — email address and, if you save palettes, your saved palette results. Stored only if you create an account.
• Sampled color values — when you run an analysis our backend receives only the RGB values you sampled, never the photo itself.
• Order data (Passport of Beauty) — name, shipping address, order reference. Required to ship the product. Held by us and our payment processor Stripe.
• Analytics — anonymized, aggregated page-view counts via Plausible Analytics (no fingerprints, no cross-site tracking).
• Advertising — if you accept the cookie banner, Google AdSense and its certified partners may set cookies to show you relevant ads. If you reject, we signal Google to deliver only non-personalized ads.

3. What we do NOT collect

We never receive, store, sell, or train AI models on your face, photo, or wrist images. All sampling happens in your browser. We do not run facial recognition or biometric matching.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

To keep the tool free we display ads via Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

• Clicking Reject on our cookie banner (we'll show non-personalized ads only);
• Visiting Google Ads Settings to opt out of Google's personalized advertising network-wide;
• Visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com to opt out of additional ad networks.

5. Cookies

We use one strictly necessary first-party session cookie for sign-in, plus the advertising and analytics cookies described above. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and a way to change your consent.

6. Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data on these legal bases:

• Contract — to deliver your account, palettes, and shipped products;
• Consent — for advertising and non-essential cookies;
• Legitimate interest — for fraud prevention and aggregated analytics;
• Legal obligation — for tax and consumer-protection records.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR and similar laws you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to the processing of your personal data. Use the delete-data page or email info@palettereveal.com. We respond within 7 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Italian DPA) or your national authority.

8. Data retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Order data is retained for 10 years where required by Italian tax law. Cookies expire as documented in our Cookie Policy. Anonymized analytics are retained indefinitely.

9. Children

The service is not directed at children under 16. If you believe we hold data on a minor, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the homepage. Always check the "Last updated" date at the top.
